Saddleworth is an 11-16 Community School with 1400 pupils on role. The school is currently located in Uppermill with plans to move to Diggle in the next few years. It was designated as a National Support School in 2017 and was once again graded as “good” by OfSTED in 2018. The school is the only secondary school in a Cooperative Trust, the Dovestone Learning Partnership which includes eight local primaries. The majority of pupils from the school progress on to study at Oldham Sixth Form College and the link between the two organisations is very strong, making membership of the Advantage Teaching School Alliance an obvious choice for Saddleworth.
