This session looks at the use of technology in the classroom, using short quizzes/testing to provide quality formative feedback that is easy to decipher and focuses on optimising learning using retrieval practice. Retrieval practice can help with both fact-based learning and meaningful learning and transfer (Butler, 2010; Carpenter, 2012; Jensen et al.,2014; Smith et al., 2016).
Frequent snapshots of class progress can give you a more tailored approach to teaching and help you better understand your students without drastically increasing your workload.
